Understanding Mobility Scooters: Common Questions Answered
For individuals with disabilities considering the purchase or rental of a mobility scooter, questions often arise regarding usage and safety. This FAQ aims to clarify key aspects of electric mobility scooters, providing insights that we hope will be both helpful and informative.
1. Will my Mobility Scooter roll down a slope?
No, Alifero Mobility Scooters are equipped with an advanced automatic electronic brake system that prevents the scooter from rolling down slopes without user action. The scooter will only move when you engage the hand control lever. Importantly, this braking system remains active even when the scooter is powered off or if the battery has been removed.
Note: Our scooters feature a “Neutral” or “Freewheel” switch, allowing for manual movement when needed.
2. How do I recharge my Mobility Scooter battery?
Recharging your Alifero battery is simple! Just connect the included charger to the designated port on your scooter. You can recharge directly at home for your convenience.
3. How long does it take to fully recharge a Mobility Scooter battery?
To optimize battery life, avoid letting it completely discharge before recharging. If your battery is fully drained, using the Alifero original 24V, 2.5A charger for a 12Ah, 24V battery will take approximately 6 to 8 hours to charge fully. For a 20Ah, 24V battery, expect a charging time of 8 to 10 hours. If you use the Alifero original 24V, 5A charger, your charging time will be reduced by half.
